600 Princes, presidents, policymakers to discuss how to inspire our future at Horasis Global Meeting

The Horasis Global Meeting will gather 600 world leaders in politics, academia, religion, and business to discuss how to jointly inspire our future from May 5-8 in Cascais, Portugal.

The Horasis community of more than 600 selected world leaders from 70 countries, will gather to discuss this year’s theme, “Inspiring our Future.”

In the 2018 edition, politicians and business leaders will meet to discuss and devise novel ideas which will help sustain and nurture development in the future.

Throughout the four day event, talks and discussions are set to be held on topics such as sustainable development, modeling sustainable migration, blockchain, closing the gender gap, the digital future, embracing AI, youth employment, business as an agent of change, religion’s role in business, and many more.

The annual Horasis Global Meeting is one of the world’s foremost gatherings of business leaders who interact with key government officials and eminent thought leaders.

Among the political leaders slated to attend are Prince El Hassan bin Talal of Jordan, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, President of Portugal; Peter Mutharika, President of Malawi; and Mohamed ElBaradei, former Vice-President of Egypt and winner of the Nobel Peace Prize.

Frank-Jürgen Richter

“At Horasis we recognize that identifying globally relevant issues and growth strategies require thought leadership and peer-to-peer networks,” said Frank-Jurgen Richter, Chairman of Horasis.

“With a number of leaders already confirmed I am excited to see how this year’s collaborative efforts can inspire our future,” he added.

Dr. Richter’s experience in advising governments and private sector organizations on issues such as globalization, trade, and sustainable development led to him to found Horasis in 2005. A German entrepreneur and frequent public speaker, Richter has also authored many books and articles on global strategy and Asian business.

Notable business leaders in attendence at this year’s gathering will include chief executives and representatives of the world’s biggest corporations, including Jose Manuel Barroso, Chairman of Goldman Sachs International, Nobuyuki Ide, CEO of Quantum Leaps Corporation, and more.

In 2017 the Horasis Global Meeting discussed Building Togetherness, a theme organizers wish to build upon to improve global economic and societal well-being through its collaborative efforts towards “Inspiring our Future,” a theme which follows the newly evolved mission of Horasis.

Attendees included Cardinal Peter Turkson, President of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace at The Vatican; The Rt Hon Patricia Scotland QC, Secretary-General of the Commonwealth of Nations; and Shashi Tharoor, Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on External Affairs in India.

Horasis cites three core pillars in its philosophy:

Sustainability
We believe in long-term and robust solutions which tackle issues of strategic importance for corporations and society at large.

Principled leadership
We believe in a new leadership credo, which dispenses with power and embraces generally accepted principles.

Community Building
We believe in the open exchange and interaction of people, knowledge, and services to inspire collaborative growth and well-being.

As in 2017, the Horasis Global Meeting is held in partnership with the City of Cascais and the Portuguese Government.
