Blog Awards Ireland 2012 winners – meet the 30 best blogs in Ireland

Bloggers and blog owners from all over the country packed-out a function room in the Osprey Hotel in Naas, Co. Kildare tonight to witness Wise Words take home the Overall Best Blog award at the first-ever Blog Awards Ireland event, designed to recognise the “passion and enthusiasm that blogging brings to the Irish media landscape”.

Creator of A Wine Goose Chase at ABSOLUT Fringe 2012 Susan Boyle guided the 230-strong audience through the night, announcing the winners of all 30 categories at the awards.

The hugely popular category of Best Newcomer was won by One Man’s Meat. Best Food/Drink blog was won by Wise Words and Best Beauty/Fashion blog by Fluff and Fripperies.

Both Molly Moo and Wise Words won three category awards each.

We, like many others, joined the conversation on Twitter, providing live updates using the hashtag #blogfestIrl. The ceremony’s main hope was to “recognise the efforts of the blogging community” and, judging by the noise on Twitter, I think it’s fair to say that this has been achieved.

The complete list of winners at Blog Awards Ireland 2012 are:

Albizu Garcia

Albizu Garcia is the Co-Founder and CEO of Gain -- a marketing technology company that automates the social media and content publishing workflow for agencies and social media managers, their clients and anyone working in teams.
