Google improves Maps for the UK, Germany, Finland and Sweden

Highly accurate water body data in Finland

Google has today announced improved Maps for the United Kingdom, Germany, Finland and Sweden, including improved water bodies and local park coverage.

Google has worked closely with local and national organisations, agencies and data providers in these four countries to help enhance the accuracy of Google Maps. In Germany, the Federal Agency for Cartography and Geodesy supplied data from surveying and mapping agencies of all of Germany’s 16 states, while in Finland the National Land Survey directly provided accurate water body data.

Google are also encouraging users to report any errors they find in Maps with the ‘Report a Problem’ tool located in the bottom right corner, or in the right-click menu. Users can report errors in roads, landmarks and driving directions that are then sent for review and fixed once the new information is confirmed.
